2-PART CLASS
$60 / person
Part 1 :: Saturday, July 18 // 2:30 - 4:30 pm
Part 2 :: Open Pottery Time
Create two beautiful, hand-built ceramic planters in this beginner-friendly workshop!
Our instructors will guide you through each step of the process, from working with clay to adding your own creative details. No experience is necessary—we'll provide all the instruction, materials, and support you need.
Step 1: Prepare the Clay
Each participant will receive prepared clay slabs for hand-building. You'll learn how to properly compress, smooth, and prepare the clay to create a strong foundation for your planters.
Step 2: Build Your Planters
Once your clay is ready, it's time to bring your ideas to life! Our instructors will demonstrate each step of the construction process while providing personalized guidance as you shape and assemble two unique ceramic planters.
Step 3: Add Texture & Personal Style
After your planters are built, you'll have the opportunity to make them your own using carved patterns, stamps, sculpted details, and other decorative techniques. Whether you prefer a simple, modern look or something more whimsical, our instructors will share tips and techniques to help bring your vision to life.
Finishing Your Pottery
At the end of the workshop, you'll leave your completed planters with us to dry before they're fired in our kiln.
Once your pieces have been bisque fired, you'll return during one of our Open Pottery sessions to choose from our selection of custom glazes and finish your planters. After glazing, we'll complete the final firing, transforming your creations into durable, functional ceramic planters that are ready to display your favorite plants. We'll notify you as soon as they're ready for pickup.
What to Know
No experience necessary! We'll guide you through every step of the process, making this a fun and relaxing experience for beginners and experienced makers alike.
Wear comfortable clothing. Pottery can get a little messy, so we recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
Remove rings and bracelets before class, as jewelry can interfere with working with clay.
Clay washes out easily, so don't worry if you get a little messy—we promise it's part of the fun!
