Sashiko / Boro Stitching with Christine Herrmann

5:30 PM SESSION

$20 / person

Offered at a special reduced rate thanks to Christine generously donating her time and talents.

Wednesday, April 1
5:30 - 7:30 pm

Sashiko / Boro Stitching is a traditional Japanese needlework technique used to mend, strengthen, and beautifully embellish clothing — think jeans, jackets, and layered textiles — or to create a striking patch or panel.

In this hands-on workshop, instructor Christine Herrmann will guide you through the foundational sashiko stitch and help you apply it to your own piece.

  • Bring a clothing item to work on (denim is perfect!)

  • No item? No problem! We’ll have denim patches available

  • Choose from a wide selection of fabrics to design your own one-of-a-kind wearable art piece

Whether you're mending with intention or stitching purely for the joy of it, this class is about slowing down, creating with purpose, and adding story to fabric.

While you're here, be sure to explore our current exhibit, Express Yourself – Wearable Art, for even more inspiration.

Seats are limited — grab yours today!

  • All levels welcome.

  • All supplies provided. Students are encouraged to bring a piece of clothing to work on, with denim being an excellent choice.

  • minimum 3, maximum 10
