The Essence of Wood as Material & Muse explores the many ways artists incorporate wood into their creative practice. From finely crafted carvings and turned forms to paintings on wood panels and mixed-media works incorporating natural elements, this exhibition highlights wood as both material and inspiration.
Long valued for its warmth, strength, and organic beauty, wood carries visible traces of time—growth rings, grain patterns, and textures shaped by nature. Artists across disciplines continue to be drawn to these qualities, using wood structurally, visually, or conceptually within their work.
This exhibition brings together artists who carve, construct, paint, assemble, and experiment with wood in diverse ways, revealing how a familiar material can become sculpture, surface, support, or storytelling element.
