Oh, what fun you’ll have at the four-day art adventure for kids aged 5-8 years old with Denise Larson.
Kickstart a creative summer by jumping into a series of early afternoon art classes. Here’s what we’ve cooked up for creative, curious kids!
Camp Curriculum
DAY 1
Custom Kitchen or Art Apron
Let’s get messy in style! Each camper will design their very own apron using fun fruit and vegetable prints, along with their name for a personal touch. These aprons will stay at Olio throughout the week so students can wear them during daily projects—building excitement and a sense of ownership from day one!
Supplies: All materials needed are provided in the class.
DAY 2
Mosaic Coasters
Tiny tiles, big creativity! Campers will paint a set of four coasters and then learn how to arrange and glue colorful mosaic pieces to create unique designs. Once dry, our staff will grout and finish the coasters so they’re ready to take home at the end of the week—a functional piece of art they can be proud of!
Supplies: All materials needed are provided in the class.
DAY 3
Beads & Buttons Jewelry
Colorful, creative, and completely one-of-a-kind! Campers will explore the basics of jewelry-making as they design and create their own necklaces using a playful mix of bright beads and whimsical buttons. They can also choose to make fun keychains for backpacks or gifts! Students will learn simple techniques like planning patterns, stringing, and finishing their pieces—resulting in a handmade treasure to keep or give as a heartfelt gift.
Supplies: All materials needed are provided in the class.
DAY 4
Cardboard Chickens & Chicks
Get ready for some feathered fun! Using a cardboard cone base, campers will create their own quirky chickens, decorating them with torn paper, magazine clippings, and colorful details. Pre-cut pieces like eyes, combs, and feet make it easy to bring their creations to life, while accordion-folded paper legs add personality and movement. If time allows, they can even make an adorable baby chick using an egg carton!
End-of-Camp Celebration
Day 4 will conclude with a Camp-end Celebration. This short Celebration will begin at 3 pm.
